Welcome, welcome!
I’m super thrilled you decided to join me on this free series. This is kind of the welcome letter, and at the end I’ll share with you some details about how this series will work, but first I’d like to start asking you a few questions and encouraging you to getting started with watercolors.
So, let’s begin!
Do you want to create your fashion illustrations with watercolors?
Do you keep searching for how-to videos on YouTube, or posts on Google? But still have no clue how to get started?
Oh, I know that feeling!
It’s awful feeling stuck; with random resources on how-to do the thing, but no idea on how to actually start doing the thing – right?
And it feels even worse when you don’t know if you’re doing it right – right?
It happened to me when I started teaching myself fashion illustration (actually, on a regular basis, when I start learning something new), and when I started my first business. Every time it happens I feel like a hot mess, worrying about everything, and getting overwhelmed by the huge amount of arbitrary resources or the lack of them.
I know, and I can bet you know, it’s not enough some random videos on YouTube, or a post or two somewhere else to get started with watercolors (or whatever else you want to learn and create). And sometimes, we just don’t have time to go to an in-person workshop or college course to get all the nitty-gritty details.
But, I believe that learning what you’re itching to learn, wherever you are, is a key to creating work in your own voice and work that you love. The kind of work that makes an impact – in your life, in your business, and in the world. And the kind of work that stands out in the industry.
Getting started is easier than you think. (And, just so we’re clear… you don’t need perfect skills or an art or design degree to make it happen.)
Your illustrations matter. Your authentic voice matters. You have ideas, deep inside of you, that need to be seen by LOTS of other human beings. But they’ll never know or care unless you start learning, creating, and sharing.
So, if you are aching to learn watercolors, if you have ideas to create fashion illustrations with this art media, you need to know how to get started. You need to begin with confidence.
And that’s why I’m here today; I want to show you how to get started with watercolors (for fashion illustration). You don’t have to figure it out on your own. I want you to feel confident about learning something that you care so much about. I want you to start with the right foot so all the work you create feels perfect to you. And I want it to feel as easy and smooth as possible.

Here’s how it works:
Over the next few days, I’m going to send you one email letting you know about a lesson and a couple of videos
For me, learning a new skill is about getting started (sometimes the most difficult) and doing the work, and that’s what I want to help you with. We’re going to first get you started (letting you know what you need), and then get you working (practicing the techniques).
Let me be clear: I’m not promising that a few lessons and videos will make you become a watercolors master; what I am promising is that at the end of this mini-series, you’ll have a much clearer picture of how to start using your dusted watercolors set.
Above all my goal for you is to help you get started learning and working with your favorite art media: watercolors.
I want to be fully transparent
And I want to make sure you know that I have a watercolors e-course (with a 30-day challenge for everyone who enrolls). Actually, all the lessons and videos from this series are from that course: Watercolors for Fashion Illustration.
So, you have my word that I will NOT mind-trick you into purchasing said course. I will mention the course along this series and when we wrap up so that anyone interested in creating fashion illustrations with watercolors can leverage the course and challenge. But, from now know that there isn’t any pressure from me to hop on board 🙂
Whether you’re looking for a full understanding of watercolors for fashion and do decide to join the course, or whether you’re not interested and just want to learn the basics, I made this free series because I want you to get started on your watercolor journey – doing what you love, how you want.
Let’s get started!
Okaaay, your first assignment for today is to send me an email, say hello, tell me your biggest struggles with fashion illustration, and share with me why you joined this course.
