Welcome, welcome!
I’m sooo excited that you decided to join me and be part of the course and challenges of Watercolors for Fashion Illustration!
WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME!
I can’t wait to teach you watercolors for fashion illustration, to help you improve your skills, and to challenge you to learn more and become better 🙂
This will be a fun ride, with some ups and downs – as always happens when you’re learning something new -, but be sure I’m in this with you. I know how you’re feeling – a mix of excitement and eagerness with a pinch of I-want-my-illustrations-to-be-perfect – because I’ve been there, but I also know how you can learn and improve your new skills in a way that helps you make consistent progress.
And I want to thank you for trusting me on that 😉
This is kind of the welcome letter, and at the end I’ll share with you some details about how this course works, but first I’d like to start asking you a few questions and encouraging you to getting started with watercolors.
So, let’s begin!
Why do you want to create your fashion illustrations with watercolors?
You’re here because searching how-to videos on YouTube or posts on Google hasn’t been enough.
You’re here because you want to learn watercolors, and you want to use them to create your watercolors.
But, why?
Do you love them from your childhood?
Maybe you were touched by a watercolor piece?
Why are you so eager to learn watercolors?
I believe that learning what you’re itching to learn, whatever it is, is a key to creating work in your own voice and work that you love. The kind of work that makes an impact – in your life, in your business, and in the world. And the kind of work that stands out in the industry.
Knowing why you want to learn that skill – in this case, watercolors – will help you to determine its importance, and if it should/could be part of your authentic style.
Your illustrations matter, and your authentic style matters.
So, start thinking about your why. Get clear on that, and share you why with me – that’s your first assignment 🙂
Here’s how this course works
The course consists of 4 main modules, which are released in a weekly basis. 1 bonus module, which will be released once new bonus lessons are available. And monthly challenges, a new challenge is available every month for you to improve and practice your watercolors skills with different subjects.
The lessons as soon as they’re released can be taken as you want. But, I highly recommend that you follow at least one lesson per day, or that you follow the challenge Starting with Watercolors.
If you need help, have questions, or want to share your progress with me, you can shoot me an email. Actually, the challenges have this option, you can share your practice and progress over email.
And if you want to share your thoughts and questions about the lessons with your classmates, you can post a comment on whatever lesson.
Above all my goal for you is to help you get started learning and working with your favorite art media: watercolors.
Let’s get started!
Okaaay, your first assignment for today is to send me an email, say hello, tell me your biggest struggles with fashion illustration, and share with me why you joined this course.
